Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation at times. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native bilingual. Since she was nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages helped her get the job she wanted in Miami as an assistant production at Univision. In this role, she had the opportunity to be a part of national show producers such as Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her next assignment was an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were also frequently requested. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on more responsibilities. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. Then, she became the sports host for the morning show that is Despierta America Deportes. She also served as a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 her mother remarried an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. The holiday in the summer that she lived with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school and had a very clear vision of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. As it turned out she loved the campus and they were offering the degree she was searching for. After graduation, she attended the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. Mark Bergmann inspired her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She was determined to meet the expectations of him and not let him down.
